To avail financial assistance under schemes launched by the Government of India such as Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Scholarship Scheme, Jan Dhan Yojana, it is necessary for the beneficiary to have Aadhaar DBT Link. You cannot avail the benefits of these schemes unless your bank account is linked to DBT i.e. Direct Benefit Transfer.
DBT is a system under which the government transfers the scheme amount directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries, thereby eliminating the scope for corruption and ensuring that the money reaches the right person at the right time. Beneficiaries must link their Aadhaar with their bank accounts to receive Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) benefits.
What is DBT?
DBT is Direct Benefit Transfer is a digital system through which the amount given under government schemes is transferred directly to the bank account of the beneficiary without any middleman.
As a DBT beneficiary, you simply need a DBT Aadhaar link to your savings account to receive your DBT payments. Once DBT is in place, it becomes much easier to transfer payments.
