A new insurance scheme named Bima Vistaar Yojana is launch soon for rural India. Bima Vistaar is an ‘all-in-one’ insurance product launched by insurance regulator IRDAI. It aims to increase insurance penetration in rural areas and provide a strong social security network. This scheme will give every individual from rural India a cover of up to ₹5 lakh.
The insurance expansion policy integrates life, health, personal accident cover, and property insurance, making it a comprehensive and affordable insurance solution. The plan is expected to be launched by December 2025. It aims to achieve the goal of universal insurance by 2047.

Bima Vistaar Yojana
Bima Vistaar – all-in-one insurance plan – gives policyholders coverage for life, health, personal accident and property risks. The number of people taking insurance in villages is very less as compared to cities, keeping this in mind it has been decided to start Bima Vistaar Yojana. All life insurance companies, including LIC, will provide this insurance policy at the same price.
This scheme can be a game-changer because it is simple, affordable, and uniform across India. Bima Vistaar will be a combined policy, meaning rural families will not need to take separate insurance plans.
Bima Vistaar Coverage
Bima Vistaar will give a coverage of Rs 2 lakh against for life, personal accident and property insurance. Regulator IRDAI has fixed the premium amount at Rs 1,500 for an individual individual. The scheme is planned to be launched by December 2025.
