Karnataka governments are running various schemes to make women financially independent and strong. The Karnataka Government has launched the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme, which ensures gender equality and empowers women of Karnataka state. In rural and low-income areas especially, this assistance plays a crucial role in reducing financial burden.

Under this scheme, the female head of the family is provided with monthly financial assistance. Eligible women will receive Rs. 2,000 monthly, which will be transferred directly to their bank account through the Direct Benefit Transfer. This totals Rs. 24,000 in financial assistance per year.

Gruha Lakshmi Scheme

Griha Lakshmi Scheme, also known as Gruha Lakshmi Yojana, is an income support scheme. Under this scheme, the Karnataka State Government will give financial support to the head women of the house. Karnataka Government, provides monthly financial assistance of Rs. 2,000 to the head women of a house.

Griha Lakshmi Eligibility Criteria

To ensure that only deserving families receive income support, the government has set certain rules:

Who Can Apply?

• Must be a permanent resident of Karnataka
• The woman must be listed as the head of the family on the ration card
• Families with BPL, APL, or Antyodaya (AAP) ration cards are eligible

Who Cannot Apply?

• Women who are government employees
• Women or husbands who pay income tax or file GST returns
• Only one woman per household can receive the benefit

Gruha Lakshmi Scheme Apply Online

Step 1: Visit the Seva Sindhu Portal.

Step 2: Register on the portal if you are a new user. Enter the mobile number, OTP/ password and login.

Step 3: Click on ‘Apply For Services’ and search ‘Gruha Lakshmi Scheme’. 

Step 4: Click on ‘Application for Gruhalakshmi Scheme’. Fill in the required information for the scheme and upload the documents. 

Step 5: Click the submit button and note the application form number for future reference. 

The Gruha Lakshmi Scheme provides monthly financial assistance to women residents of Karnataka. Eligible women can register for free by visiting their nearest Gram One, Karnataka One, Bangalore One or Bapu Ji Seva Kendra.
