The Telangana State Government has launched the Katamayya Rakshaka Kavacham Scheme to provide assistance and upliftment to the Gowda community in the state. The Katamayya Rakshaka Kavacham is a Telangana government safety-kit scheme for toddy tappers. The scheme also promises to provide land for the cultivation of palm trees across the state. Katamayya Rakshaka Kavacham Scheme has been launched by Chief Minister Shri Revanth Reddy to provide climbing aids to toddy tappers in Telangana state. With the help of high-quality climbing equipment, the Telangana State Government will prevent the risk of accidents while climbing trees.

The scheme aims to protect toddy tappers from injury by providing kits designed by IIT Hyderabad and distributed through the BC Corporation.
