The Bihar government has launched the ‘Mahila Rojgar Yojana‘ to promote women’s employment towards women empowerment. Under this initiative, financial assistance of up to ₹10,00,000 is provided, with 50% as a non-refundable grant and the remaining 50% as an interest-free loan, enabling these women to become self-reliant and empower themselves.
CM Nitish Kumar is releasing the first installment of ₹10,000 each to 75 lakh women, a total transfer of ₹5,000 crore. The payment is being done through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). This scheme is being implemented by the Rural Development Department, Government of Bihar.
This scheme is mainly for urban and rural women, especially those linked with Jeevika self-help groups. If their work is successful in the future, they can also be given additional assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh.
What is Mahila Rojgar Yojana?
The Bihar government has launched the Chief Minister’s Women’s Employment Scheme to empower women economically. Under this scheme, one woman from each family will receive 10,000 rupees. This scheme will benefit millions of women and they will get the opportunity to get employment while sitting at home.
This amount is being provided to help women start self-employment, establish small businesses, or expand existing businesses. The amount will be transferred to the beneficiary women’s bank accounts via DBT.
Eligibility
In rural areas, women who belong to self-help groups (SHGs) can submit their applications to their village organization. Urban women can apply online by visiting the Jeevika website www.brlps.in.
- Must be a permanent resident of Bihar.
- Applicants must be female.
- Minimum qualifications are 10+2, Intermediate, ITI, Polytechnic Diploma, or equivalent.
- Age must be between 18 and 50 years.
- The business entity must be established as a sole proprietorship or partnership firm.
- Open to all castes and includes transgender individuals.
How to Check Mahila Rojgar Yojana Payment Status
STEP 1: Visit the official website of Bihar Mahila Rojgar Yojana at mmry.brlps.in.
STEP 2: On the homepage, look for the option “आवेदन की स्थिति / Payment Status” (Application Status).
STEP 3: Enter your Application Number or Aadhaar Number in the given box.
STEP 4: Fill the captcha code and click on the Check Status button.
STEP 5: The portal will show whether your application is approved and if the payment has been sent to your bank account.
You will not have to pay any money to fill the form
There’s no need to pay any money to fill out the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana form. If you’re a member of a Jeevika group, you don’t need to fill out the form online. You simply visit your Village Organization (VO) office and complete the form.
This initiative is being considered a major strategy to harness the power of women in politics. Through this scheme, the government aims to make women completely self-reliant through entrepreneurship and technical training.
