Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana

Budget of prime minister crop insurance scheme
Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana was launched by the Prime Minister of India, with the help of which there is a provision to provide insurance in case of crop loss. Objective of PM Fasal Bima Yojana

The complete process to apply online (PMFBY Online Application) for Agriculture Insurance under PMFBY is:-
- The farmers need to go to the PMFBY website and click on the Registration Link.
- The farmers need to fill in the ‘Register for New Farmer User’ form that contains the details of farmer details, residential details, account details and ID details.
- On submitting the ‘Register for New Farmer User’ form, the farmer’s account will be created on the PMFBY website.
- The farmers need to sign in to the PMFBY website and fill in the ‘Crop Insurance Scheme’ application form.
- After filling and submitting the ‘Crop Insurance Scheme’ application form, the application process is complete.
Offline Application Process
Many people are unable to use the internet, due to this farmers can also apply offline under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, for which you have to follow the procedure given below.
- First, you’ll need to visit your nearest insurance company.
- From here, you’ll need to obtain an application form for the Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme from the Agriculture Department.
- After this, you will need to enter all the important information asked in the application form, such as your name, mobile number, email ID, etc.
- Now you will need to attach all the important documents with the application form.
- You will then need to submit this application form to the Agriculture Department.
- You will then need to pay the premium amount.
- You will then be given a reference number.
- You must keep this reference number with you.
- You can check the status of your application using this number.
As we mentioned earlier, with the help of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, insurance cover is provided for crop loss due to natural calamity. Apart from this, the insurance company has also appointed employees at the district and block level, so that this scheme can be implemented quickly and properly. In addition, the government has formed a Grievance Redressal Committee to address all farmers’ complaints. This Grievance Redressal Committee operates at the district level.
Under this scheme, crops like paddy, maize, millet, and cotton will be insured during the Kharif season, and wheat, barley, chickpea, and mustard during the Rabi season. Farmers wishing to benefit from this scheme must register on the portal before July 31st.
How to Claim Crop Insurance
If your crop has been damaged and you want to file an insurance claim, it’s important to keep a few things in mind. You’ll need to inform the insurance company about small-scale natural disasters. If you delay in giving information to the insurance company, your claim will not be paid.
Natural disasters include hailstorms, landslides, heavy rain, cloudbursts, natural fires, and unseasonal rain or excessive rainfall. Recently, insurance claims for approximately 930,000 farmers have been rejected. Because he did not inform the insurance company about the natural disaster in time.
Claim Process under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana
If your crop is damaged then you can claim the insurance amount by following the below procedure.
- First, you must report the crop loss to the insurance company, bank, or state government official.
- You must provide this information within 72 hours. You must ensure that they provide this information to the insurance company as soon as possible.
- The damage will be assessed within the next 10 days and the damage will be determined.
- The insurance amount will be deposited into your account within 15 days of completion of the entire process.
