The scheme “Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana” is implemented by Ministry of Labour and Employment through EPFO. The objective of this scheme is to create large scale employment in the country and empower the youth. The scheme has been designed to stimulate employment creation by providing incentives. The scheme will be implemented in two steps, providing benefits to first-time employees and employers.
Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana
It is an employment-linked incentive scheme, which is being implemented through the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). The scheme will provide support to employees and establishments.
This newly-introduced scheme focused on providing cash incentives to both employers and new recruits. The scheme will create employment opportunities for the citizens by directly creating jobs in various sectors.
Benefits of PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana
Under the PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, a reward of Rs 15,000 would be given to each young person who gets their first job. This will be paid in two installments with the first due after 6 months in the job, and next after completion of a year.
Who can Apply for PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana?
- The employee must start working for an EPFO-registered company between August 1, 2025, and July 31, 2027 (inclusive).
- Must not have been an Exempted Trust or EPFO member prior to August 1, 2025.
- Contributions to the EPF must be received by August 2025 at the latest.
- The gross salary must be at least ₹1,000,000 per month.
- The employee must work consistently for the same company for a minimum of six months.
Benefits Provided to Eligible Beneficiaries
Benefits to Employee
- Financial Support from the Central Government for First-Time Employees.
- One-month EPF wage or a maximum up to Rs. 15,000/- incentive in 2 installments is applicable.
- 1st Installment will be released on completion of 6 months.
- 2nd Installment will be released on completion of 12 months and completion of the Financial Literacy Course.
Benefits to Employer
- Financial Incentive from the Central Government for the creation of additional jobs.
- Incentive from Rs. 1,000/- per month to Rs. 3,000/- per month is applicable.
- Manufacturing Sector Employer will receive the benefit for 4 years, while other sector employers will receive the incentive for 2 years..
- Central Government will provide the financial incentive to the Employer as per the EPF wage slab.
Eligibility Conditions Required
Eligibility Criteria For Employee
- First-time employees are Eligible.
- Registration with the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) is a must.
- The Monthly Salary of a First-time employee should be less than Rs. 1 lakh.
- Employment of an Employee should be at least 6 months old.
Eligibility Criteria For Employer
- PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana Benefits are applicable to Employers of all Sectors.
- Employer will have to hire at least 2 additional employees per year in case the entity has less than 50 employees.
- Employer will have to hire at least 5 additional employees per year in case the entity has more than 50 employees.
- Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Yojaan benefits will only be applicable when hired Employee has completed employment of at least 6 months.
- The Salary of the hired Employee should not be more than Rs. 1 lakh.
The Pradhan Mantri Vikas Bharat Rozgar Yojana aims to tackle the rising unemployment in the country. Employers will receive a financial incentive up to Rs. 3,000/- per month per employee under this scheme.
