The Punjabi government has established the Punjab Ashirwad Yojana to offer financial support for a girl’s marriage. Even today, many parents in society suffer from mental stress simply due to lack of money. Keeping this in mind, the Punjab government has started this Ashirwas Scheme.

Ashirwad Scheme is a social welfare scheme of the Punjab Government, aimed at providing financial assistance for the marriage of daughters of economically weaker families. Under the Ashirwad scheme of the state government, financial assistance is now being provided for the marriage of daughters of needy families.

Ashirwad Yojana

The Punjab government’s Ashirwad Scheme is a social welfare scheme aimed at assisting daughters from economically disadvantaged families in their marriages. Under this scheme, the state government provides financial assistance of ₹51,000 for a daughter’s marriage.

The scheme has been designed keeping in mind those families who face problems in marrying their daughters due to financial constraints. Through Punjab Ashirwad Yojana, it is to be ensured that the marriage of any family’s daughter is not stopped only due to lack of money.

Who can avail the benefits of the scheme

This scheme, launched by the Punjab government, is benefiting girls who are about to get married. The government has expanded the scope of this scheme to include various sections of society.

Caste-based: Scheduled Caste (SC), Christian girls, Backward Classes (BC) and Other Backward Classes.
Economic basis: Economically Weaker Section (EWS) girls of any caste.
Special cases: Daughters of widowed women of any caste.
Remarriage: Widowed or divorced women belonging to Scheduled Castes who remarry are also provided assistance under this scheme.

Eligibility

• Girl should be 18 years old or above.
• Annual income of the family from all sources does not exceed ₹32,790/-.
• Parents/Guardians of the girl should be domiciled in Punjab State.
• The application can be given before the fixed date of marriage or after the 30 days.
• The amount of Ashirwad is limited up to two girls of the concerned family under the scheme.

Online Application Process

Step 1: For this, you can visit the official portal of the scheme at https://ashirwad.punjab.gov.in/ashirwad/

Step 2: Here, you will have to click on Applicant Registration and fill out the registration form.

Step 3: You can submit the form by filling all the necessary information.

Offline Application Process

For applicants who prefer in-person assistance, the offline process is straightforward and involves visiting local government offices:

Step 1: Visiting the local Gram Panchayat office or District Welfare Office.

Step 2: Collect the application form for the Ashirwad Shagun Scheme.

Step 3: Fill in the application with accurate details.

Step 4: Attach the necessary documents as per the list provided.

Step 5: Submit the form in person and get a tracking receipt.

If you were unable to apply earlier for some reason, you can submit your application within 30 days of your marriage. After 30 days, you will no longer be eligible for this scheme.
