What is Udyam Portal?

Businesses operating in India are required to register with the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME). The central government has launched the Udyam Portal for this purpose. After registering, the government assigns your business a permanent Udyam registration number. This certificate allows you to take advantage of various beneficial government schemes.

Who Can Apply?

Anyone running a business must be registered. If you are going into business, be sure to register online.

  • Micro Enterprises:
    • Investment: Less than ₹1 crore in plant and machinery or equipment.
    • Annual Turnover: Less than ₹5 crore.
  • Small Enterprises:
    • Investment: Less than ₹10 crore in plant and machinery or equipment.
    • Annual Turnover: Less than ₹50 crore.
  • Medium Enterprises:
    • Investment: Less than ₹50 crore in plant and machinery or equipment.
    • Annual Turnover: Less than ₹250 crore.

Udyam Registration Certificate Process

  • To register your enterprise, you must visit the official website https://udyamregistration.gov.in.
  • After visiting the website, click on the New Entrepreneurs Registration option.
  • A new page will open, where you’ll need to enter your Aadhaar Number and Entrepreneur’s Name.
  • After this, you’ll need to verify your Aadhaar card using the Validate & Generate OTP.
  • Once you verify the OTP, a new page will open.
  • Here, you will need to select the Type of Organization.
  • Next, you’ll need to enter all the business-related information, such as name, address, plant unit, office address, NIC code, number of people employed, and bank account details.
  • Now, click on the Submit & Get Final OTP option.
  • After this, enter the OTP and submit the form.

This will successfully complete your Udyam registration, and you will receive your Udyam Registration Number. Keep this number safely. The Udyam certificate is the certificate provided by the Ministry of MSME.
