The Higher Education Minister, Suryabanshi Suraj launche impactful scholarship programme known as Odisha Videsh Siksha Bruti Scheme. Under the Videsh Siksha Bruti scheme, students from families with an annual income of up to ₹12,00,000 will be eligible for support.
Each year, the government will select 50 students, with engineering, technical, medical, agriculture, architecture, and other higher education disciplines. With this support, students will be able to cover tuition fees, stay expenses and other study-related costs without struggling financially.

Student Selection Distribution for Scheme

General Higher Education Streams – 30 students (10 PG and 20 PhD)

- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Odisha and belong to the SC or ST category.
- Applicant must already have admission in a top 200 QS global ranking university for a PG or PhD course.
- Combined family income from all sources must not be more than ₹12 lakh per year.
- Only students who are selected for higher studies abroad will be considered for financial support.
- The University must be in top 200 of the QS World University Rankings.
- The scholarship is for postgraduate (PG) or doctoral (PhD) studies only.
