Each cowherd will receive a monthly honorarium of 10,000 rupees. This amount will be given in exchange for grazing the cows daily and taking responsibility for their safe return. The scheme was launched with a program where cowherds were appointed in 14 villages. Currently, the government has appointed one cowherd for every 70 cows.

The Gaon Gwala Yojana aims to protect cattle and protect them from unsafe conditions. Organized grazing will prevent them from reaching slaughterhouses. This scheme is envisioned as a combination of traditional values ​​and modern management.

A special monitoring committee will be formed at the village level where the scheme is implemented. This committee will consist of the village sarpanch, ward panch, philanthropist (donor), and other respected village figures. This committee will select unemployed individuals to graze cows.
