State Government of Assam has announced Assam Orunodoi Scheme to support women from economically weaker sections of society. Assam chief minister start the new phase of the scheme 3.0, will be launched on September 2025. Under the 3.0 version of the Orunodoi scheme, the state government will include more than 40 lakh women in the beneficiary list.
Orunodoi scheme was originally launched by the Chief Minister of Assam, Sri Himanta Biswa Sarma. Under the new phase of scheme, the number of beneficiaries has increased to more than 40 lakh.

Assam Orunodoi Scheme
Orunodoi Scheme has been started with the aim of providing financial assistance to poor women. Under the Orunodoi scheme, eligible families will receive ₹1,250 monthly directly into the bank account.
The scheme primarily targets women beneficiaries, recognizing their role as primary caretakers of families. Each beneficiary will get 1250 rupees per month on the very first date of every month.

The scheme targets financial help to needy women, improving their living conditions. The financial assistance provided has increased over time:

Eligibility Criteria for Beneficiaries

- Must be a woman.

Orunodoi has become the largest DBT scheme in Assam, supporting over 19 lakh families in previous phases. The Assam Government decided to launch the Assam Orunodoi 3.0 on 17th September 2025. The scheme is for female head of the eligible household.
