The Delhi government has launched the evsubsidy.delhi.gov.in portal to provide subsidies to citizens for electric vehicles. Through this portal, those purchasing electric vehicles can apply for the subsidy online and receive the subsidy amount directly in their bank accounts.
The Delhi government has decided to provide subsidies of up to ₹30,000 for the purchase of electric two-wheelers, up to ₹50,000 for electric three-wheelers, and up to ₹1 lakh for N-1 category electric trucks. Through this portal, citizens can purchase electric vehicles and apply for the subsidy from the comfort of their homes.

Applying for the subsidy on electric vehicles has become very easy. After purchasing an electric vehicle and obtaining the Registration Certificate (RC), there is a 30-day window to apply for the subsidy.

Online application process on the Delhi Electric Vehicle Subsidy Portal
Step 1 – Visit the official portal at evsubsidy.delhi.gov.in on your phone or computer.
Step 2 – Register or log in to the portal.
Step 3 – Select the application form based on your vehicle type.
Step 4 – Fill in personal details such as your name, mobile number, and Delhi address. Enter information regarding the vehicle model and registration number.
Step 5 – Now, upload all the required documents.
Step 6 – Review everything and submit the form.
Step 7 – After the form is submitted, the Transport Department will verify your vehicle and documents. The subsidy is transferred to your bank account via DBT within 60 days of application.

Since this is a digital portal, you will need scanned copies of certain documents; therefore, keep the correct documents ready before applying.
Aadhaar Card – Required for identification and for receiving Aadhaar-based DBT payments into your account.
Registration Certificate (RC) – Proof that the electric vehicle is registered in your name in Delhi.
Voter ID – Used as proof of address and identity.

Subsidy amount based on the type of vehicle
Under the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2026, subsidy amounts are provided based on the vehicle type. Since the subsidy amount decreases over time, it is advisable to purchase a vehicle soon. Let us understand how these cash incentives work.
Purchasing an electric two-wheeler priced below ₹2.25 lakh entitles the buyer to ₹30,000 in the first year, ₹20,000 in the second year, and ₹10,000 in the third year.
For electric three-wheelers, ₹50,000 is provided in the first year, ₹40,000 in the second year, and ₹30,000 in the third year.
Subsidies of up to ₹1 lakh in the first year, ₹75,000 in the second year, and ₹50,000 in the third year are available for N-1 category electric cargo vehicles.
This subsidy is available only to those who purchase a new electric vehicle and register it in Delhi. Both individual buyers and entities such as companies can avail of this benefit. Applications must be submitted within 30 days of purchasing the vehicle to qualify for the subsidy.
