What is Shramshree Scheme?

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee started Shramshree scheme for migrant worker and returning back to the state. With this scheme, your family can get monthly help of ₹5,000 for up to one year. This scheme will provide benefits to a total of 22.4 lakh migrant workers from West Bengal. Through this scheme, financial assistance is to be provided to the migrant workers returning to the state.

Eligibility Criteria for Shramshree

To apply for the Shramshree Scheme, here are some eligibility requirements:

  • You are a migrant worker from West Bengal who worked in another state and has come back to Bengal.
  • You must have returned to West Bengal or returning soon to avail the scheme benefits.
  • Your income should be within the specified limit.
  • You register on the Shramshree portal with basic details and documents.

Documents Required for Shramshree Application

When you apply for the Shramshree Scheme online, you may require following documents:

  • Aadhaar/EPIC/registered deed of property in their or their parents’ name;
  • Proof of employment outside West Bengal
  • Bank passbook front page copy with account number and IFSC code.
  • Previous employment records, employer letters from other states, or even a self-declaration.
  • A recent clear photograph.
  • Aadhar and bank account linked mobile number for communication and OTP verification.

Apply Online for Shramshree Scheme

Online applications are invited through Shramshree Mobile App, follow the below instructions to apply for the Scheme.

STEP 1: Visit the official Shramshree Scheme website at https://karmasathips.wb.gov.in of West Bengal.

STEP 2: To apply for Shramshree, you must download the new Shramshree App (For Android Only), install it and open the app.

STEP 3: Now register on the app using your mobile number and OTP, If you are already a registered worker, the login.

STEP 4: Online application form for the Shramshree scheme will open, fill all the required details and attach all documents.

STEP 5: Before submitting the application form, carefully review all the information and then submit.

After the online application, Authority will verify the applicant details. The claim will then be approved by the relevant authority. The Board will then finally disburse the claim to the account of the beneficiaries.

Any Bengali migrant worker who was working in another state and has now returned to West Bengal will be eligible for benefits under this scheme. However, registration is required to receive benefits.
